Flipped Normals Bust

Flipped Normals Sculpt and Render    CAGD 250     For our final assignment, we were tasked with sculpting a bust of a humanoid character. To accomplish this, I follow very closely with a standard modeling guide on human faces. After creating a base model head, I worked off images of a Native-American man posing for a portrait to sculpt as a bust. While I wasn't able to capture the full detail of the image, I am happy with how my bust turned out. Using the Move tool, I was a able to quickly edit basic dimensions of my character. I also regularly used the clay build-up tool to add detail and layering. Once I was mostly satisfied with the bust, I exported to Maya into our flipped normals lighting scene. After this, I rendered out images of the bust, as well as my turntable images. I moved these images over to Adobe Premiere Pro to sequence the individual images into a video.      Looking forward, I plan to use what I've learned while modeling and scul...

CAGD 250 - Compositing Capstone

Image
Compositing Capstone My name is Kade Chambers and this project consisted of gathering footage and compositing other footage over a green screen. To prepare for this, I purchased a large greenscreen backdrop and watched other effects done online through other tutorials. I had my roommate help me gather reference, as well as help prepare the set with soft-box photography lights.  Once of the largest issues that I ran into during this project came after I had brought the video files into Adobe. After applying the Ultra-Key to the green screen, The wrinkles that were folded into the newly bought canvas were nearly impossible to make completely disappear. With some color correction and curve modification, I was able to make most shots uniform enough for the composite. My favorite finished composition includes the above footage. Grabbing the crackers and then compositing this shot to appear through my computer monitor was super cool. These turned out the best, and I included an ex...

CAGD 250 - Editing Capstone

Editing Capstone Hello, my name is Kade Chambers and this assignment involved editing footage from a series of scenes in short films into a full edited video. We were already familiar with scenes provided, as they were a part of our EditMentor courses to teach us editing basics. Out of the five films provided, I decided to edit footage from Bully, because I was really curious about the plot being layed out in EditMentor. For the first week of the assignment, I began a rough draft of the scenes I wanted in my timeline. The majority of time spent in this phase of the assignment was watching through each scene. This allowed me to find the best takes in each required scene, and move forward with trimming down the film length. I was able to then move forward with the next phase of this assignment, which was finishing the edit. Completing the edit was done in a few different steps. First, I focused on scene order. After I made sure that scenes were complete and in the correct order, I began ...
